Average Order Value measures the average amount a customer spends per order. This is an important metric to measure and track because you’ll be able to see if that amount is increasing or decreasing over time. Your goal is to increase the Average Order Value over time.

Upsell Products

Let’s say you have a store that sells lemonade and you charge $1 per cup. Your Upsell Product would be larger size cup.

Cross-Sell Products

Cross-Sell Products are similar to upsells however they are complimentary. Let’s say you own an online clothing store. You want your customer to buy a complete outfit, t-shirt, jeans, etc.


This is not very well known and is one of the few ways that will really increase your average order value. Let’s come back to the lemonade stand and bundle some products.
